A Note For the Holidays

There's no new post this week, but I thought I would pop on to remind you of a few things with the holiday this week.

First, we must all acknowledge the harm Thanksgiving represents to Indigenous communities in the United States. Do some research about the land you're on and find an organization that supports native people.

On a separate note, I know that the holidays can be triggering for many different reasons, one of which is the fact that Thanksgiving in particular revolves around food. I want to remind you of a few things ahead of that:

Your body is good

You deserve to eat and enjoy it

Food is not “good” or “bad”

You do not need to punish yourself for eating more or different food

I'm not quite ready to talk publicly about my relationship with food, but I do want you to know that you are seen and you are doing great.

I hope you can enjoy yourself this holiday season and spend time with the people you enjoy.

Take care of yourselves.
