Introductions
Hi there!
My name is Abbie, and it’s really nice to see you here. I’m a twenty-year-old writer who is studying to become an ASL interpreter. I was diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder when I was sixteen years old, and I have learned a lot about myself in the years since.
Now, obviously I don’t know everything about anxiety—or a fraction of everything—or even about myself, but I do know that, despite the way my brain likes to trick me and trip me up, I am capable of doing anything I dream of. With this blog, I hope to inspire others to not be ashamed to seek professional help, as well as share the things I have learned from my therapists and things I have read.
Now, I am not a mental health professional, or a professional of any kind. I am simply here to share my experience and create a welcoming space to talk and think about the ways our brains try to stop us from achieving our goals.
I really hope you stick around and take this journey with me!
